Three B.C. Adoption Agencies (including ours) are meeting tomorrow to discuss the issue that our children's visas are not being issued by Nairobi CHC. Apparently, Nairobi CHC is grossly mis-informed on what is really happening in the DRC with the suspension of exit letters they have made a decision to not process any adoption files.
Please pray our agencies will speak up to CIC (Canadian Immigration Canada) Ottawa on our behalf and get the correct information to Nairobi CHC.
The Bible tell us: "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God." (Philippians 4:6) And yet we are anxious. Why? Because we are human.
ReplyDeleteIn times when we are lifted up and our faith reaches its height, we love Hebrews 13:6
So we say with confidence,
“The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me?”
That is then and this is now. Perhaps we don't trust God to make the choices we would like Him to make on our behalf. The Bible tells us not to fear but it never tells us not to doubt. We don't doubt God and don't doubt His perfect decisions in Providence, but we sometimes doubt if things will work out as we hope and want them to be.
The tension between fully trusting God and experiencing present circumstances tears us apart on the inside. And so God remains our only Refuge and strength in all our fears and doubts. We have human hearts that experience all the negatives life has to offer. But in those circumstances our heart cries out to the living God...
"Where can I go but to the Lord" is our constant retreat. God knows our human weaknesses. He understands our fears and apprehensions. "Lord I believe, but help my unbelief."
Psalm 34:
17 The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them;
he delivers them from all their troubles.
18 The LORD is close to the broken-hearted
and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
Psalm 103
8 The Lord is compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger, abounding in love.
9 He will not always accuse,
nor will he harbor his anger forever;
10 he does not treat us as our sins deserve
or repay us according to our iniquities.
11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is his love for those who fear him;
12 as far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
13 As a father has compassion on his children,
so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him;
14 for he knows how we are formed,
he remembers that we are dust.
May our gracious God bring home our grandchildren from Congo soon. "Lord, we look to You - please help us!"
