A few things we learned today from other adoptive families:
1). Nairobi CHC (Canadian High Commission) will NOT issue adoptive children's visas while there is an exit letter moratorium in the DRC.
2). If we push Nairobi, they will deny visas and this is difficult (almost impossible) to revoke.
3). All adoption agencies are working together to get the current families home that are stuck in Kinshasa.
4). The next course of action is to get the DGM to agree to issue exit letters for those of us with Bordeaux Letters and others with visas.
5). Once Nairobi hears that the DGM agrees to issue us exit letters when we travel, hopefully they will issue our girls' visas/citizenship.
This is the short version of a very complicated mess! Subject to change without notice....
