We've reached another weekend without any progress. Well, not that we can see with our human eye, but we trust that God is working behind the scenes on our behalf!
Yesterday we heard that our agency reps in Kinshasa were told by the DGM that they were still waiting for Canadian Immigration to make THE request of information. UMMMM... this was done several times via diplomatic notes according to our MP's office and their conversation with Nairobi last week.
Then we hear from two other families also in this situation that there has been communication with the DGM and CIC will deal with DGM on each individual case.
There's no rhyme or reason or speeding up this process. Our MP is involved again in communicating with Nairobi on our behalf. They cannot direct Nairobi on how to operate their Immigration Office but they can at least get answers for us when we cannot.
We are really praying we travel BEFORE Christmas!
We wonder how discouraged Moses must have been when God told him to tell Pharaoh "Let My people go" with no results. God had a plan in mind that Moses could not see. But God required obedience in the face of disappointment, discouragement and lack of progress. It seemed futile to go to Pharaoh again, but Moses just simply obeyed. That's a lesson for us too. We too are knocking on the doors of Congo "let my children go" with a seemingly lack of progress. But we need to continue in prayer and the use of whatever means are available as God works for us and through us.
ReplyDeleteBe still, my soul; thy God doth undertake
To guide the future as He has the past.
Thy hope, thy confidence, let nothing shake;
All now mysterious shall be bright at last.
Be still, my soul; the waves and winds still know
His voice who ruled them while He dwelt below.
