Passed Court

I like it when good news comes when you least expect it, even though we check for it hour after hour, day after day!  That was yesterday before lunch. We received news that we officially passed court and now have received the Written Judgment. That means we are approved by the DRC courts to adopt these girls and it's in writing!  Apparently this is record time to hear about passing court - Praise God!

We have now entered into a 30 day wait during  which time any family member that is fit and able to care for these girls can claim them back. This rarely happens and our prayer is that it doesn't because if someone could have already cared for them, we hope it would have happened before we reached this point.

In the next 4-6 weeks, more documents will be issued like new birth certificates in their new last names, Act of Adoption, translations from French to English, etc. Please pray for accuracy in each document so we would not be held back in time.

Thank you for your prayers - please don't stop praying!  Pray that we would have submissive hearts to God's timing.

  2. Once again God shows His faithfulness in this process. Praise be to His name!! And we rejoice with you. What often hinders us is our impatience as God’s timeline is not ours. Therefore this is indeed a journey of faith, as is our whole life, looking to God and His providential care with a desire to commit all things to Him because He will direct our paths. He tells us to cast all our anxiety on Him because He cares for us. 1 Peter 5:7 – often easier said than done! Because we desire a certain outcome we are often afraid and fear it will not happen. But…. Jesus cares for little children. And He also wants to partner with us in this endeavor. We must never second-guess His care and faithfulness as he teaches us patient trust. And there is no other option. It seems that these life lessons must be learned over and over again. We are weak, but He is strong!

In His time, In His time
He makes all things beautiful in His time.
Lord please show me every day
As your teaching me Your way
That You do just what You say
    In Your time.

In Your time, In Your Time
You make all things beautiful in Your time.
Lord my life to You I bring
May each song I have to sing
Be to You a lovely thing
    In Your time.

    Love
