RANDOM SELECTION

Dear Friends/Family;
I'm sorry you had to hear this way but there just isn't time to personally call or email you all.   Monday morning we woke up to news that 10 Canadian children have been selected out of a group of kids allowed to leave the DRC.  2 of the 10 came home two weeks ago on a medical exit so that leaves 8.  Such a sudden shock.  We knew meetings were happening and they were asking for medical files but we never expected this.  No one knew which children were chosen until Tuesday afternoon.
Our girls have been randomly selected!!!!!   We say randomly because there is absolutely no earthly rhyme or reason as to why some were chosen and others not.  There are 26 Canadian children that need to come home, and our two have been chosen. There are over 1000 adopted children from various countries that need to come home.  It could easily have been the other way around.  But God chose our girls.... To Him be the Glory!
We are making travel arrangements and will keep you posted as things progress.  We are beyond excited. Just unbelievable.
Please do not post this on public media but keep this low key until we are home.  It's a very delicate and sensitive issue in the DRC right now as many parents are angry that only 69 children will be released, 8 of those from Canada.

We appreciate your confidentiality in this. Please pray that the exit permits will be issued as promised.

  2. As usual, we continue to lift you up in our prayers. This journey of faith has been a faith that has been tested many times and we do well to ask, “What are we to learn from this?” God has a purpose in all of our providences, and this journey has drawn us closer to Him and made us aware of our need for His care at every step in life. It has also taught us to live close to Him and be dependent on Him and to trust His Fatherly care in every situation. He will not leave us nor forsake us. That is our trust and firm belief.

    Day by day, and with each passing moment,
    Strength I find to meet my trials here;
    Trusting in my Father’s wise bestowment,
    I’ve no cause for worry or for fear.
    He Whose heart is kind beyond all measure
    Gives unto each day what He deems best:
    Lovingly, its part of pain and pleasure,
    Mingling toil with peace and rest.

    Ev'ry day, the Lord Himself is near me
    With a special mercy for each hour;
    All my cares He fain would bear, and cheer me,
    He Whose Name is Counselor and Pow'r;
    The protection of His child and treasure
    Is a charge that on Himself He laid;
    "As thy days, thy strength shall be in measure,"
    This the pledge to me He made.

    Help me then in ev'ry tribulation
    So to trust Thy promises, O Lord,
    That I lose not faith’s sweet consolation
    Offered me within Thy holy Word.
    Help me, Lord, when toil and trouble meeting,
    E'er to take, as from a father’s hand,
    One by one, the days, the moments fleeting,
    Till I reach the promised land. Amen.
