Did this really happen?

We keep pinching ourselves and sit back in amazement over the last 12 days!!  Just incredible. Only God....

Monday (Nov. 2)- all over the news that 10 DRC Canadian children are going home to Canada. 69 kids total from various countries. No names given.  Names were randomly picked - no rhyme or reason for the selection. 8 were chosen out of 25. (two came home 2 weeks before on medical exit so that's why they said 10 total).

Tuesday (Nov 3) - received letter from Canada Immigration late afternoon stating that our girls' names were on the DGM list to receive exit permits.  There were 1000 kids waiting to come home. Only 69 chosen. Our two were chosen out of 69. Why?  Only God knows!

Thursday (Nov 5) - get on a plane at 9 AM Vancouver to Brussels.  Children would be escorted out of the DRC as there isn't time to wait 1-2 weeks to get an entry visa.

Friday (Nov 6) arrive in Brussels. Spent the day with 3 other families plus our immigration consultant, being updated step by step on the progress of our children.
5:00 PM Kinshasa, our ambassador & incountry lawyer finally receive exit permits. Children on their way to the airport in Embassy vehicles.  9:00 pm get confirmation our children are on the plane.

Saturday (Nov 7). 4:30 am meet other families at hotel lobby, walk over to the airport.
5:10 AM plane arrives from Kinshasa. By 5:30 AM the children are in our arms.
Spent a few hours withour kids, changing clothes, feeding and hydrating them.
10:30 AM flight leaves Brussels for Montreal. (Brussels 9 hrs ahead of BC).  Arrive in Montreal with our two newest Canadian Citizens. After 5 hour layover, families part ways and we are on our way to Vancouver.
8:15 pm arrive in Vancouver. WOW.  Who would have ever thought??!!  Only God could work a miracle like this.

He has blessed us with some amazing people working hard to bring our children home!! We're continuing to help and advocate for the other families. No child left behind.

Thank you for praying for us over the years. We started this journey 4 1/2 years ago. But oh, so worth it. God has blessed us with lovely, sweet girls with such joyful hearts.  Love the little voices buzzing in this home these days.   It'll take alot of adjusting for the older girls but it's a good kind of learning-to-become-selfless type learning. We're staying close to home, cocooning and  getting to know one another at a deeper level.

Thank you for sharing our journey with us.
Love to you all, Les & Jackie

We waited two years for the DGM to issue these (and also Canada Immigration)
