We had some communication yesterday from Canada Immigration. Most of what the email stated was what we already knew, but we're still grateful for any bit of communication we get. The letter was in response to our letter writing campaign to the Minister's office regarding our girls' Canadian visas. They communicated that "Citizenship and Immigration Canada Nairobi is continuing to process Part 2 of the Application for Canadian Citizenship for a person adopted by a Canadian Citizen." They confirmed that as our applications are being processed, they will communicate with us. This is very vague and doesn't give any time frames. They are also not promising visas for our children, but haven't said no either. We're not going away until we get our daughters' Canadian visas!
Apparently our files are staying in Nairobi now but are under the supervision of Ottawa CIC.
When the Exit Permit suspension is lifted in the DRC, we need to be ready to travel and not wait on Canada Immigration. This is why we need the visas prior to the suspension being lifted.
Thank you for your continued prayers.
