The US State Department had a briefing with several of the representatives of the Caucus (the group of agencies and advocates working on a solution to the exit letter process). Letters are being written to John Kerry (US Secretary of State) and also the President Kabila (from the DRC).
The Caucus is working on the invitation to bring members of the DRC delegation to the U.S. to meet with adoptive families and come to a resolution to the exit permit suspension on adopted children from the DRC. They're hoping this meeting in the US could happen in March. Nothing is quick and easy about the solution.
The rumors that the DGM will open in February is far-fetched. It's a hard fall each time we become optimistic.
Hebrews 12
ReplyDeleteTherefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
It is easy to get discouraged when things don't work out the way we would like it or have hoped for. Questions may arise, "Where is God in all of this? Why the delay?"
I must remind myself at such times that God is on the throne and not me. I kneel before Him as He is upon the throne. And He needs to be on the throne of my heart at all times and in all circumstances. He is God and not me. No doubt, He has other plans than ours. He holds the ways of every human being in His hand and moves according to His purpose and design. And that is something we cannot know. There is nothing too hard and for Him to do, and nothing He will not do for our good. A mystery? Yes!
How often I would like to have God do things for me. But His response is "Follow Me." He leads and we follow even if it means is ways we do not like because, as Creator, He knows best how to handle His creatures. I remind myself: "I am the created and He is Lord." So we continue to prayerfully wait upon the Lord our God knowing His heart is for those who love Him. We would like Him to do things for us, but firstly, He wants our trust and our heart. We are but servants while He is Lord and therefore He is in charge. What better hands can our situations be in than in His hands?
All the way my Saviour leads me,
Cheers each winding path I tread;
Gives me grace for every trial,
Feeds me with the living Bread.
Though my weary steps may falter,
And my soul athirst may be,
Gushing from the Rock before me,
Lo! A spring of joy I see;
Gushing from the Rock before me,
Lo! A spring of joy I see.
