Luke 18:1-8 ESV
"And he told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart. He said, "In a certain city there was a judge who neither feared God nor respected man. And there was a widow in that city who kept coming to him and saying, "Give me justice against my adversary." For a while he refused, but afterward he said to himself, "Though I neither fear God nor respect man, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will give her justice, so that she will not beat me down by her continual coming." And the Lord said, "Hear what the unrighteous judge says. And will not God give justice to his elect, who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long over them? I tell you, he will give justice to them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?""
Sometimes we wonder if God gets tired of us asking for the same thing over and over again. He already knows before we ask, and yet He wants to hear our prayers as we cry out to Him.
ReplyDeleteA man in a plane flying above a town has a better perspective on the town than a man walking on the street. If you had to choose one of them to guide you, who would you choose?
We are like the man on the street, only seeing and understanding our immediate surroundings. God, like the man in the plane, sees more. He knows each detail of our lives. As the Creator of all, He understands each intricate person and piece of the world.
It is a glorious thing to know that our Father God makes no mistakes in directing or permitting that which crosses the path of our life. It is the glory of God to conceal a matter. It is our glory to trust Him, no matter what.
And we continue our prayers upon His own invitation to do so, and wait upon the Lord for...
Strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord
We will wait upon the Lord
We will wait upon the Lord
Our God, You reign forever
Our hope, our Strong Deliverer
You are the everlasting God
The everlasting God
You do not faint
You won't grow weary
You're the defender of the weak
You comfort those in need
You lift us up on wings like eagles
