Yes, we are 3 months overdue from the time we thought we'd travel to pick up our babies. And yes, it is very discouraging!
Please continue to pray for those Bordeaux Letters and that we would find favor with the officials - that the committee would ALL show up for the meeting as the B Letter cannot be issued if one committee member is absent.
Questions arise within us: “Where is God? Does He hear us? Do our prayers make any difference?” We think about these things. And yet we know from His own Truth that God hears everything and knows everything and everything is under His control. And so we ponder…
ReplyDelete6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. (Philippians 4:6)
But we also know that God’s plans are much bigger than ours.
8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the LORD.
9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55)
Even though we know these truths and we confess to trust God, yet we get frustrated with people as if God lets them get away with what they do or fail to do.
Yet, because we have hope and faith in God, we continue to pray without ceasing.
16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. 1 Thess. 5
We think of the prayer of Hezekiah “12 Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” (2 Chronicles 20)
And indeed there is an army of bad thoughts toward God and others – there is an army of evil spirits that call God into question etc. And these are forces within us that press us onto our knees…
But we will not lose faith and hope in God’s promises. Like Joseph, who, after his dreams was sold as merchandise, betrayed by a woman, thrown into prison, and yet confessed that dreams belonged to God. And then to his brothers “you meant it for evil but God meant it for good.”
And so we trust that in this journey of a faith that is being tested and tried, we will gain the victory though Jesus Christ our Lord.
