Letters have been heard!

Thank you all who have sent those letters to those 14 email addresses.  We have been heard. Several weeks ago, we asked for an appointment to have a private meeting with our MP, Mark Strahl, and last week his office called to confirm that Mr. Strahl will meet with us next week. YAY!
Today we received a "personal" reply from Stephen Harper's office stating that our comments have been noted and they will receive due consideration from the Minister (of Immigration).
I'm guessing coming to work Monday morning with 100 emails of the same subject would have gotten their attention. :-)  We know that keeping silent won't get our kids home. We do what we can on our end, and God sirs the hearts to move.

Patience's passport had a printing error on it which we were finally told after our file sat on someone's desk in Nairobi for over 6 months. They were to return it to our agency in Kinshasa to be reprinted. But last week, you'll never guess what we got in the mail:  Patience's passport!  Seriously? Like we can get it reprinted in Canada?  It had to be couriered back to Africa, $150 later. Sweet friends of ours generously paid that fee on our behalf.
