Some things that are happening recently:
1). 30 Italian-Congolese children received exit permits from the DRC Monday
2). 15 American-Congolese children received exit permits yesterday
3). 1 Canadian-Congolese child received exit permit yesterday
4) 1 American-Congolese medically fragile child received exit permit today
Praise God for movement!!
Spending 4-5 hours/day emailing, advocating and keeping on top of the situation at hand. Our MP and 20 other government officials are hearing from us several times/day, receiving updates as they happen.
Contacted the US Embassy in Kinshasa to see if they can help conduct BP interview.
Canadians are fed up with the Canadian Immigration system and are looking into getting media involved. We need our kids home!
Movement is starting in the DGM but they are giving those with Visas AND Bordeaux Letters priority. We have Bordeaux Letters but no visas. CIC says they will wait and see what happens before issuing visas. Result: We are STUCK. and tired. and angry at this injustice. We're talking about children, not commodities.
Finally, passive Canadians are starting to make some noise to our government. No battle was ever won without a fight.
At some point you just need to take this matter to the next level. Being patient just puts you on hold. The media makes the issue public, not only for Canadians, but also the image it presents internationally. It may be the only option left, as much as one would hate to have it come to that.
ReplyDeleteAt the same time, we understand that God knows and understands, and we continue to look to Him and wonder if he would have us use this means to expose the situation for what it is. ??
God is still our refuge and strength in the battle. May His Spirit direct in all of this.
