Road Block

It's Monday at 3:29pm. The phone rings.  It's our U.S. agency.  "I have good news and bad news."  As I pace furiously across the room, the blood drains down and the walls around my heart climb even higher.  "The girls are doing good."  Instant relief that brings much joy!
"The bad news is that we are having a problem with the Canadian authentication process."  While our originals sit in Virginia waiting for the Canadian process, we need those same originals sent to Victoria for a preliminary authentication done at the BC Order in Council before this process can continue in Virginia.  Always learning new steps.  "You need to send us new originals because if we request the originals back from Virginia that could delay you in time by several weeks as we need to send them back there again."
Think, scramble. Yes! I have an extra set of notarized originals.  It pays to be organized.   Stand in the long line at the post office and just make the overnight deadline to Victoria. Oh by the way, the BC Order in Process has just moved locations, and today will be their first day open after a few days of closure.  Praying for favor that our documents can get authenticated within the next day to be retrieved by our Canadian agency, sent to our U.S. Agency, and then to Virginia.  My head hurts.  God is in control.   Still praying this gets done before everyone shuts down for Christmas holidays. This delay will cost us around 2 weeks, depending on who works during the holidays.
We appreciate your prayers!!

UPDATE: Tuesday afternoon:  After a few phone calls back and forth, we found out that our notarized copies will not be sufficient for authorization.  New signed documents needing to be notarized by a lawyer - who is registered with the BCOC - are on their way to Victoria today.  No fault of our agencies at all - they cannot control the government's requirement. Just jumping through the hoops.
