We received an email back from Immigration. We were repeatedly told by Nairobi (via our MP) that our "file is good". We decided to push for answers ourselves.
And just what we thought, all is not good. They want more paperwork and interviews. They can't fly to Kinshasa and do the interviews until September apparently. But we are advocating for an earlier date.
A delegation team (judges, lawyers, etc) from the DRC was to arrive in the US today to meet with American agencies, families, advocacy groups, and the Department of State. However, their very own DGM won't allow them to exit their own country so the meetings are off for this week. This is definitely a control issue, no concern for the children AT ALL.
Please pray as the situation seems to get more complicated and more difficult as time passes.
Pray that we would find favor with the Immigration officials to get earlier interviews.

ReplyDeleteJesus warned His disciples about the Evil One, and for a good reason.
ReplyDeleteJohn 17:15
15 My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.
Jesus knew what the Evil One was up to –do destroy and lead astray. 200 years later, that has not changed. And as Jesus prayed for His disciples, he clearly pointed out one of the fiercest challenges they would face: the Evil One.
The word of the Evil One is the work of destruction and undoing what the Lord does for His kingdom here on earth. Why would Jesus pray for His disciples’, protection if there was no real threat?
The Evil One is real. He schemes to undo God’s good work in this world and most often targets Jesus’ followers. And because this is so real, Jesus prays for His followers – He prays the Father to protect us.
Could there be a better protection plan? Jesus Himself is praying for us at the right hand of the Father in heaven. And so as we continue to petition heaven for our children in Congo, we know they are received by the One Who has all power and authority in heaven and on earth. And we know His character for His children is always for their good, and so we continue to wait upon the Lord.
In our thoughts and prayers always
