Glimmer of hope...

G & P's passports are in the process. They are just waiting on an extra document from Lubumbashi and we're hopeful they will be completed next week.

Entry visas into the DRC have been a struggle in the past 3 months for Canadian families. There are several families that have their child's Canadian Immigration completed but cannot enter the DRC because of their entry visas not being issued. The Congolese ambassador from the Ottawa DRC embassy is on his way to the DRC this week to visit with the DGM (Direction General of Migration). The DGM is responsible for several adoption letters for us which have also been on hold.

On a separate issue, it has been told us that the DGM will begin issuing letters again by the end of May. This would include one important document - the Bordereaux Letter - that we need to send with our Immigration file to Nairobi.

We are optimistic today (as emotions are different every hour, every day!) that there will be some very important progress made soon!

Please continue to pray for these things.

    Psalm 23... Yea, though I walk through the Valley....

    It’s not like “Yea!” like we say at a ball game or some sporting event where our team is winning. But it is an agreement that “Yes, I am convinced that He leads in paths of righteousness for His Name’s sake. Yes, even when those paths lead into dark canyons.”

    When we are in the Lord’s will and following His guidance, as best we can, we are on the right path, even when they seem to snake through the bush or meander across ridges. We are where the Lord wants us to be, even when we don’t particularly want to be there. We are sheep on the move from green pastures to valleys and hills and mountains, and the Great Shepherd knows where He is taking us. He leads us even when the way is rough and unsettling.

    Any of us would rather remain in the green pastures of security and familiarity, but we are on the move through life as the Lord leads us through these valleys where only faith can lead us and keep us from despair and discouragement because our faith is in the Shepherd and not in the way where we find ourselves.

    Then we need to remember that we are not walking in the valley, but through the valley, and this means the valley journey will also pass in due time. And when we arrive at the other end of the Valley of trials and temptations, we can only give praise and thanks for the way He has led us. All this in anticipation.

    All the way my Savior leads me;
    What have I to ask beside?
    Can I doubt His tender mercy,
    Who through life has been my Guide?
    Heav’nly peace, divinest comfort,
    Here by faith in Him to dwell!
    For I know, whate’er befall me,
    Jesus doeth all things well;
    For I know, whate’er befall me,
    Jesus doeth all things well.

    All the way my Savior leads me,
    Cheers each winding path I tread;
    Gives me grace for every trial,
    Feeds me with the living Bread.
    Though my weary steps may falter,
    And my soul athirst may be,
    Gushing from the Rock before me,
    Lo! A spring of joy I see;
    Gushing from the Rock before me,
    Lo! A spring of joy I see.

    love, grams & gramps
